About Personal Best Education:
Personal Best Education is a dynamic organisation committed to empowering young people through the National Citizen Service (NCS) program. We have been providing expert educational, sports and leisure services to the public since 2012. The NCS programme sees 16 and 17 year olds meeting other young people from their area, over a four-week period, learning new skills and developing their own social action project alongside local businesses and charities to make a difference to their community. Over 1,200 young people from Hampshire completed the life-changing NCS programme in 2016. Through the NCS programme, Personal Best Education (Mountbatten School Services Ltd) enables participants to develop the skills and attitudes they need to become more engaged with their communities and grow into active and responsible citizens.
Position Overview:
To plan and deliver the social action/volunteering offer for the NCS Summer programme.
To develop further social action/volunteering opportunities for all graduates of the NCS programme.
Key Responsibilities:
- Charity Partnership and Project Identification: Develop and maintain relationships with charity partners to identify suitable projects for youth involvement in social action initiatives.
- Guideline Development and Compliance: Work with colleagues to ensure adherence to NCS guidelines in social action delivery, creating support documents for staff on undertaking social action.
- Hub Site Selection: Identify effective hub site locations for social action delivery, considering community needs and engagement.
- Community Engagement and Relationship Building: Collaborate with communities to understand their social action needs and build relationships with local councils for smooth program delivery.
- Training and Support: Ensure proper training for seasonal staff in NCS social action guidelines and support their oversight of social action activities, providing real-time guidance and advice.
- Financial Management: Establish systems with the finance team to handle social action funds legally and effectively, ensuring compliance with financial controls.
- Risk Assessment and Compliance: Check and ensure all activities are properly risk-assessed and compliant with legal and contractual guidelines, overseeing staff and youth conduct.
- Equipment and Data Management: Manage equipment readiness and procurement according to policy, ensure safe use and storage, and oversee data collection and incident reporting, with a focus on health and safety.
