The Position

Personal Best has embarked on a new and ambitious growth strategy aimed at broadening its provision to achieve the challenging organisational goals to ensure the long-term success and sustainability of the business.   The successful candidate will be presented with a fantastic opportunity to help build on the strong foundations of Personal Best, where the potential for making a positive impact on the world is without limit, for both the organisation and appointed individual.

The Marketing Manager will play a key role in supporting the Head of Commercial in the successful delivery of the strategy and growing Personal Best’s current and new business streams through enabling the commercial team to reach their target audiences with effective sales tools.

This hands-on position is aimed at an ambitious and driven individual seeking to prove their capabilities by bringing ‘added value’ to a burgeoning organisation with significant potential to build a marketing team.

The primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Create and implement an effective marketing plan across the portfolio to help achieve Personal Best’s strategic goals
  • Lead on all marketing activities and creation of materials e. Brochures, Flyers, PR campaigns, Communications, Ads, Events, Presentations etc.
  • Monitor and update website content and performance
  • Manage all online content and external communication channels e. Social Media, Portals with listings etc.
  • Work closely with Product, Dept. and Project Managers to maximise both the commercial potential and PR impact of each business area
  • Produce reports on marketing activities and outcomes e. Monthly, End of campaigns, annual etc.
  • Coordinate and report on regular competitor/market insight initiatives with key stakeholders from the commercial team and other depts. to support effective decision-making
  • Act as the gatekeeper to Personal Best’s reputation in the marketplace and the maintenance of an excellent relationship with customers
  • Be a key contributor to the Personal Best Strategic direction and support other aspects of the business, where possible and key responsibilities permitting

Person Specification

 Qualifications, Education & Work Status

  • Must hold a minimum of 5 x GCSE’s (or equivalent) at grade A-C including Maths and English
  • Be educated to degree level
  • Qualification in Marketing
  • Must hold ‘Right to work in the UK’ status

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Hold a minimum of 5+ years’ experience in a full-time marketing role of coordinator level or above
  • Experience of successfully leading and/or making a significant contribution to a variety of marketing projects in a commercial organisation
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the key elements of marketing
  • Experience in creating a marketing activity plan for a commercial organisation
  • Intermediate design skills and experience in using software such as In-Design, Canva etc.
  • Experience in using social media platforms – LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram etc. – in a commercial environment and creating engaging content
  • Experience in organising PR events and similar
  • Basic understanding of WordPress and updating website content
  • Experience of working with diverse key stakeholders, both internal and external
  • Excellent written communication skills and experience of content writing

As a Safeguarding and Well-being Coordinator, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants. Your expertise will be instrumental in effectively managing behaviour concerns and safeguarding issues, while also providing support and guidance to staff members. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong communication skills, and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of safeguarding and well-being practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Behaviour Triage and Safeguarding: Expertly triage behaviour and safeguarding concerns, promptly escalating issues to relevant project managers and stakeholders.
  • Incident Management: Manage safeguarding concerns and liaise with delivery staff on how to handle incidents effectively, ensuring swift resolution and appropriate follow-up actions.

The Personal Best Curriculum

 

We are looking for inspiring and creative freelance curriculum designers with experience in designing  schemes of work and writing session plans for teenagers.

 

You will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of curriculum development, applying your strong expertise and passion for educating young people in innovative ways to shape  how we equip young people for the challenges of the future world.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop innovative and effective curricula for three themes (Personal Development, Future World of Work & Positive Impacts on Communities)comprehensive overview will be provided prior to interview
  • Research and suggest new learning methods and technologies, staying abreast of current trends and best practices 
  • Lead the preparation of detailed session plans and activities to support each session
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend platforms, resources, and multimedia materials 
  • Collaborate with Head of Youth Programmes to review course material for accuracy and progress

 

Aims and desired outcomes: 

  • Bespoke schemes of work to include detailed lesson plans with learning outcomes, timings, success criteria & resources that are appropriate for students in Key Stage 5. 
  • Ensure that schemes of work and resources promote the Skill Builder Framework and Project-Based Learning objectives. 
  • Inspire, equip and upskill young people to become world-ready and work-ready 
  • Creating 2-3 topic session plans of each theme
  • 1-1.5 hour session plans for each topic.

Leisure Centre Assistant – Overview

The Position
This exciting and diverse role is required to support both the customer service
and operational functions of Personal Best Leisure Centre and its portfolio. The
Customer Service and Leisure Centre Assistant will support Personal Best’s
clients at the centre, both on arrival and during their visits. They will help to grow
the revenues of all Personal Best’s propositions at the Mountbatten site as well
as being part of a team focused on making a meaningful and positive impact on
the local community and beyond.

 

The primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
– To assist in the daily operation of the site ensuring a safe, efficient and
customer orientated service is provided to all visitors.
– Deal with customer enquiries and promote/sell the Personal Best portfolio –
face-to-face and telephone
– Log all relevant information on administration platform and access throughout
opening hours, as and when required
– Oversee and monitor the Leisure Centre during opening hours
– Opening and locking up the School site
– Set up and removal of various sporting & school equipment
– To maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the site at all
times, undertake routine cleaning duties as required
– To carry out other duties as may be required to ensure the site operation is
properly maintained to provide total customer satisfaction.

 

Qualifications and Education
– Minimum of 5 GCSE’s or equivalent

– First Aid Qualification is desirable but not essential
– An enhanced DBS check will be carried out as part of this role
Skills and experience
– Experience of supporting or working with customers and willing to learn new
customer service techniques
– Experience of working in a sports, leisure or educational setting
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
– Competent use of and knowledge of basic IT systems (Microsoft Word)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Fitness Instructor to join our team. As a Fitness Instructor, you will be responsible for leading fitness classes and providing guidance and motivation to participants.

We are looking for an instructor to take over an established over 50’s work out class on Mondays and Wednesdays (10.30am – 11.30am) at The Royal British Legion in Romsey.

We would also like to set up a new fitness class Saturday mornings (times to be discussed with the appointed candidate)

Responsibilities:

– Conduct fitness classes, including but not limited to cardio, strength training, and flexibility exercises

– Create and deliver workout routines that cater to the needs and goals of participants

– Demonstrate proper exercise techniques and provide modifications as needed

– Educate participants on the benefits of each exercise and promote a safe and healthy workout environment

– Monitor participants’ progress and provide feedback and encouragement

– Maintain a clean and organized fitness area

Requirements:

– Certification in fitness instruction or related field

– Previous experience in sports coaching or personal training is preferred

– Excellent communication skills to effectively instruct and motivate participants

– Ability to adapt workouts for individuals with different fitness levels or physical limitations
